The number one reason that keeps us all snuggled up in our comfort zone is the fear of the unknown. We all have big dreams, sure. Nevertheless, every dreamer will come to the same conclusion at some point: it’s simply not possible to act on a dream without stepping into the unknown.

I’ve realized there are only three types of dreamers. The first is the one who decides to bury their dreams after realizing they have to step into the unknown. The second is the one who puts their dreams on pause until they feel more secure in their abilities to actually pursue them. The third is the one who simply jumps because they realize that the cold water doesn’t get warmer if they jump late.
I would guess that over 90% of our population identifies as type 1 or type 2 dreamers.
Type 3 dreamers are rare because the majority of our population would rather live in security but misery than in uncertainty. I get it — the unknown is a scary place to be because our subconscious can't differentiate between a predator chasing us or our tribe excluding us, and the hardships we'll encounter when following our dreams. The deep-instilled fear of being excluded from our social circle or starving to death is real when we decide to take the road less traveled.
As someone who has been living in uncertainty for over 1.5 years already, here are my three best tips for navigating the unknown:
